One of the most common topics that comes up, especially with newer clients, is that they feel stuck. Every single one of them has worked hard in their career, and despite meeting with success, they still feel like they aren’t quite living the life they want. For some, they are living the exact life they hoped and planned for – and yet something still just doesn’t feel right. It’s not enough, they know they are capable of more – and have no idea where to begin to make a change.
I also know this feeling well since I, personally, experienced it in my own career. I found the job that was supposed to keep me happy – maybe forever. I was working in my dream field, on amazing projects with intelligent and passionate people who taught me something new every day. And yet, something just felt off – I wasn’t fulfilled in my work – and I felt somehow like I was losing skills and confidence, rather than gaining them.
It didn’t help that my colleagues all seemed to truly love what they were doing. They had such passion and purpose for the work, I somehow felt like I was missing something. Or I was somehow wrong.
It was frustrating. I had worked really hard to get where I was and I knew that from the outside it looked like I was living the dream. Inside, however, I was feeling trapped. I didn’t know why I was so unhappy and I had no idea what I wanted to do instead, so I felt paralyzed to move forward.
Any step in any direction threatened my false sense of stability, holding me in a place I didn’t want to be in. Would I be giving up too much? Would I ever truly love the work I was doing? Maybe I could just try to be happier where I was…
And yet, inside I knew I had already tried this – I had already tried to take every possible sidestep I could take to “make it better”, but nothing changed the fact that I wasn’t happy.
Fast forward a couple of years and I can’t tell you how grateful I am that I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and try something new. First through executive education, then coaching, and finally through a complete career switch. Entering the Leadership Development and Coaching space was a total game changer for me. I had finally found the it I had been searching for!
I pursued my passions to find my calling.
And now I have the privilege of working with professionals, like you, who want to have a bigger impact in the world, aren’t really fulfilled in their work, and know they are capable of so much more.
I’ve been in this situation and personally understand how it feels to be stuck. I also know how amazing it feels when you finally feel confident about what you are meant to be doing and have clarity on the steps you need to take to get there.
The world is waiting for your impact.
